With positive appraisals and numerous viewers, we gladly launched the ‘Stories of Becontree’ in the Local History Fair at the Valence House Museum. Many young participants, our volunteers and Catch22 staff members helped to represent the organisation and speak to the audiences. The film was screened in the museum’s cinema touching the memories and opinions of people over their local places. People mentioned how well the production condensed the history of Becontree with the everyday life of today. Jean Mansham (committee member of Friends of Valence House) wrote on the comments book these words: “I really enjoyed the film, the way that past and present (people and locations) have been brought together, it deserves a wider audience”.
